Why This Exists

I got tired of security company websites trying to scare me into buying stuff. You know the ones. "YOUR FAMILY IS IN DANGER" plastered everywhere, followed by a sales pitch. I just wanted to know: what's the actual crime situation in my neighborhood, and what are my real options? So I built this.

Everyone deserves access to accurate crime data and unbiased home security information. Not marketing dressed up as advice. Real data from the FBI Uniform Crime Reports, local law enforcement agencies, and trusted neighborhood analytics platforms. That's it.

What We Do

Local Home Security provides neighborhood-level crime statistics, safety scores, and curated listings of security companies (both national providers and local businesses) for communities across the United States. The goal is simple: help homeowners and renters make informed decisions about protecting their homes and families.

How We Do It

Data-first: Every crime statistic on our site comes from the FBI UCR program, state-level reporting agencies, or verified local law enforcement data. No made-up numbers.
Neighborhood detail: City-wide averages hide a TON of variation. We break down safety data to the neighborhood level whenever possible.
No provider bias: We list both national and local security companies. Our recommendations are based on BBB ratings, customer reviews, and service quality. Not advertising spend.
